Other types of dermal fillers that can be used:

Polylactic acid (PLLA) also known as Sculptra: It is a synthetic dermal filler that is injected into the dermis causing the body to produce its own collagen. It is a non-toxic, biodegradable stimulator that has been used for more than 40 years. Most times you will need about three monthly treatments to achieve your desired result. While it is considered a semi-permanent treatment, you may still need occasional touch-ups for maximum satisfaction down the line.

Polymethyl-methacrylate, brand name is Bellafill: It is also a semi-permanent filler which is most often used to treat medium-deep wrinkles, folds and furrows.

The team at Skintisfaction Aesthetic Dermatology Laser Clinic will assess you and determine what filler best addresses your concerns which will help you achieve your desired appearance.

Calcium hydroxyapatite, brand name is Radiesse:

This is an injectable dermal filler that contains uniform CaHa microspheres suspended in an aqueous carboxylcellulose gel carrier. It is long-lasting, semi-permanent and biocompatible with human tissue.

How does Radiesse work?

Once injected, it plumps up the skin to give the appearance of a smoother surface. Over time, it works to stimulate the body to produce collagen naturally.

How long does Radiesse filler last?

It lasts anywhere from 12 months or more. Some patients require maintenance treatments to achieve the best results.
